We had a great Standard pinup shoot with Alexis about a month ago. Beautiful! Checkout a few of the pictures from her shoot below:
The reason I got into pinup photography was because I saw an opportunity. There wasn’t anyone in town doing what I wanted to do. I felt like there was great potential to make money doing something that I enjoyed. Oh… and the whole thing about photographing scantily clad women wasn’t a bad bonus.
It’s been a while now and somewhere along the way my primary motivation shifted. It became about bringing joy to people. Financial success and everything that goes along with running a business is still important. It has to be but what really feeds that part of my work is the happiness that it brings to clients.
It’s true that what we do won’t change the world but I have heard from clients that it’s a life changing experience. Some see a different side of themselves and it motivates them to make more positive choices in their life. Some see that they truly are beautiful. Some simply escape from their hectic lives for a few hours. Many have gone on to pursue their dream of becoming a model or used the photos to help them pursue other dreams.
Whatever it is, I’ve become a bit of a joy junkie. I love to hear from people after their shoot and I’m grateful that I chose to walk down this path in life.
What are your thoughts?
Once upon a time there was a beautiful lady named Chante. Her boyfriend knew how much she wanted to be a pinup so he did what only wonderful mates do; he bought her a gift certificate from Lucky. The beautiful Chante came in for her shoot and was delighted with the results! Everyone lived happily ever after.
One of our favorite clients Melanie came up from Florida to see us last weekend. She was a great model as usual and we got some pretty cool pictures for her and her husband.

We had a Creative Shoot with Beautiful Brandi a couple of weeks ago. She contacted us and said that she really wanted to put together something with a classic car. So, we went to work on finding the perfect car and location for her shoot. I called my friend Randy and he was kind enough to let me use his 1962 Morgan. Worked out like a dream!
We had a wonderful Standard Shoot with Jae a few weeks ago. This first shot was unplanned but is one of my favorites. The natural light was perfect to highlight her beauty.
I’ve been looking forward to seeing how the video came out that was filmed during our shoot with Kris Melton from www.RockFistReviews.com. I was pleased for sure. Tim Daust from ReelMind Studios did a hell of a job putting this together.
Look for big things coming from Kris in the future. She has the talent, drive and intelligence to make a mark on an industry that could use a good swift kick in the ass.
In the next couple of weeks I’m going to be posting some of the photos from the holiday shoot we had on Dec. 5th. We had a blast and got some great pictures!
The first on the list is Emily.

I had a shoot last week with Kris Melton, Editor of Rock Fist Reviews. Kris started Rock Fist in May 2008 and has been driving local support and making a name for herself in the Atlanta music scene ever since. She began writing for Atlanta’s Rock Scene’s review column in June 2008 and Atlanta radio station Project 9-6-1’s HomeGrown bands in August 2008. Her combined love and enthusiasm for writing, music, and chasing down a dream is what Rock Fist is founded on.
At first we talked about doing a pinup shoot but we both agreed that this was much more her style.

Congratulations to Lucky Pinup girl, Debbie Dagger, who just won her spot in the 2010 Kitten Koffin calendar.
Of all the shoots I’ve done, this one with sisters Jessica and Allison is still one of my favorites. It’s normal to go for a while before the models really get into it. Not with these two. They got exactly what I was going for and nailed it.
Too many good shots to choose from so these are a handful that I’ve never published. Enjoy!
I tend to over think shoots sometimes. For 3 days before this shoot I was beating my head against the wall trying to get the set just right. The final day it dawned on me that most of my favorite images (mine and other photogs) were simple for the most part.
I then watched a documentary about Gregory Crewdson, a photographer who orchestrates extremely complex shoots. I love his work but it made me realize that I was attempting to put together a set as detailed as some of his. He has a crew of around 40 and I… have a wonderful assistant, a terrific makeup artist and me.
So… the lesson for me is when in doubt, go back to simple and focus on perfection of the subject and the few elements that will be in the image.
The top 10 reasons to give a Lucky Pinup gift certificate to your girl:
1. It’s a unique gift that she’ll never expect. Huge points!
2. She’ll feel extremely sexy. And when she feels sexy… let the good times roll.
3. Your sex life will be escalated to that of porn star Ron Jeremy almost instantly.
4. All proceeds go towards the female beautification project (FBP), an ongoing effort to make women look and feel more beautiful than they ever have. OK… it goes to Lucky but that IS what we’re all about.
5. Studies show that she will appreciate it 7.45 times more than a new ironing board.
6. You can enjoy the pictures together over and over and over again
7. She will invite girlfriends over and have pillow fights… over you!
8. That ‘only on special occasions’ thing she does… Psht… Look for it daily after this gift.
9. You can pose with her or hang out during the shoot. Good times for sure.
10. Even women who say they don’t like to have their picture taken love to be a gorgeous model for a day.
