Trip to the Past APE & The International Black DocuFest Call for Entries
Jul 272009

I went to the monastery in Conyers today. It was a good get away for a couple of hours.

My biggest question to myself was “what makes someone choose a life of solitude?” I met an 81 year old monk who had been at the monastery for 50 years and I wish I would have asked him but… hindsight.

It’s a peaceful existence and I almost get it. Definitely a reminder that my life is better when I keep it simple.

hindsight…yeah.BUT my mother was a Nun for a time before leaving and (obviously)making a more "normal"(for lack of a better word)life for herself. Its almost ..ANYTHING BUT,a peacefull existance.kinda ironic. But I HAVE to admit I LOVE old cemetaries and old churches.Older the better.(great pic of the statue above btw.
